Tee Barefield
Founder
Coach Tee Barefield is the Founder of the Tina Barefield Foundation, named in honor of her beloved mother who courageously battled Lupus. A lifelong athlete, coach, and mentor, Coach Tee is a two-time SWAC champion at Prairie View A&M University and a former Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Houston-Tillotson University. Widely respected as a “pure shooter” and gifted teacher of the game, she holds a degree in Kinesiology and a Master’s in Human Services. At just 27 years old, she achieved her dream of opening her own gymnasium—a vision she proudly attributes to God’s work. Today, through the Foundation, she continues to honor her mother’s legacy by empowering youth and supporting families across Greater Houston and beyond.
D.J. Allen
Chairman
As Chairman of the Tina Barefield Foundation, D.J. Allen provides strategic leadership and vision to guide the organization’s mission. With extensive experience in business management and community engagement, he is committed to creating opportunities that inspire and uplift youth and families. D.J. works closely with the Foundation’s board, sponsors, and community partners to expand programs, strengthen partnerships, and honor Tina Barefield’s legacy through impactful service across Greater Houston and beyond.
DeVoyce “Dee Dee” Gray
Executive Director
Under the leadership of Executive Director Dee Dee Gray, the Tina Barefield Foundation is dedicated to empowering youth and supporting families through sports, mentorship, and community outreach. Dee Dee brings a wealth of legal expertise and a lifelong commitment to service, having led numerous nonprofit and advocacy initiatives throughout her career. Her proven record in community leadership, fundraising, and program development reflects her passion for equity, education, and opportunity. Guided by her vision, the Foundation continues to honor Tina Barefield’s legacy by providing resources that uplift children and families across Greater Houston and beyond.
Cynthia Cooper

As Sponsorship Chair of the Tina Barefield Foundation, Cynthia Cooper brings world-class leadership and a passion for community impact. A WNBA Hall of Famer and Olympic Gold Medalist, Cynthia is celebrated as one of the greatest women’s basketball players in history. Today, she leverages her platform and professional network to build strong partnerships, secure vital sponsorships, and advance the Foundation’s mission of empowering youth and supporting families across Greater Houston and beyond.
Otavia Rhone
Sponsorship Chair
As Sponsorship Chair of the Tina Barefield Foundation, Otavia is an experienced community leader and technology professional with over 25 years of expertise leveraging technology as a tool for community impact. She has held senior leadership roles for more than 15 years as President of a Community Board of Directors, driving initiatives that strengthen and sustain local organizations.
In her Board roles, she has successfully secured sponsorships, managed grants, and cultivated donations to ensure organizational sustainability. She serves as a liaison to multiple 501(c)(3) organizations and City and County officials, fostering partnerships and advancing community-focused initiatives.
A dedicated mentor to young women, she demonstrates a long-standing commitment to service, advocacy, and leadership development.
Monique McCrae
Executive Assistant
As executive assistant of The tina Barefield Foundation, Monique McCrae brings more than two decades of experience in operations, event planning and project management. An accomplished business owner and founder of Moni Maker, LLC, she is known for her strategic approach, attention to detail, and ability to manage complex initiatives. Monique’s leadership, organizational expertise, and commitment to community service play a vital role in supporting the Foundation’s leadership and advancing its mission.
